What is Art?
Art can be created either intentionally or spontaneously by living beings or nature. I’m convinced that art surrounds all of us and can be found practically anywhere as it comes in a variety of forms. We are not always aware of it, but it’s surely there. Art is often ignored because otherwise, I think that life would be much too stimulating if we were to acknowledge every form of art we came across.
In some way, I believe that art is always sensational when we take a closer look at it. It makes you feel something, big or small, and provokes shallow or deep thoughts. Art does not always have to be beautiful or satisfying because even when it is “ugly”, it is somehow intriguing. When you see an ugly sweater, sometimes you can’t look away as fast as you might assume you would. Instead, the atrocious colorway, silhouette, and texture of it draw your eye in even more and make you observe that “ugly” piece of art for a brief moment. When I observe my surroundings, nearly everywhere I turn I can spot a piece of art in the form of clothing, furniture, architecture, product packaging, houseware, or nature, just to name a few.
